Weather & Live Plant Shipping
Live plants are not the same as dry goods. Shipping timing matters.
At Elysian Garden Floral Co., we carefully review weather conditions before shipping rooted cuttings and other live plant material. Our goal is to help your order arrive in the best condition possible.
Weather holds
If temperatures are too cold or conditions are otherwise unsafe for transit, we may hold your order until a safer shipping window opens.
This decision is made at our discretion based on destination forecast, transit conditions, and the needs of the plants.
Heat packs
In borderline cold weather, customers may add a Shipping Heat Pack to help protect live plants during transit.
Please note:

Heat packs are optional

Heat packs do not guarantee shipment during unsafe freeze conditions

In most cases, add 1 heat pack per package, not per plant

In most cases, each package holds up to 4 cuttings
Why we may delay shipping
We would rather delay a shipment than knowingly send plants into unsafe conditions.
A weather hold may be used when:

destination temperatures are too cold
-
transit conditions create elevated freeze risk
-
severe weather is expected to disrupt safe delivery timing
Customer expectations
Please order live plants only if you are prepared to receive and unpack them promptly after delivery.

If we need to delay a live plant order due to weather, we will use the contact information provided with your order to communicate next steps when appropriate.
